I think the great tragedy of democratization is that it forces the popularization of a few skills by making it easy for everyone to pursue things because they are popular, rather than because they have an innate ability. Therefore, more obscure hobbies and artistic avenues die out since most people would rather "create" something effortlessly as long as it is popular instead of finding out who they truly are through art.
“Democratizing access to skills,” by replacing mastery with a tool always requires sacrifice: of the output, of the input, etc.
Sometimes it produces nice results but I don’t see the point of it.
