Lena is a mainstay of computer imaging calibration. It's silly and stupid to make any claims of harm to anyone from use of the image. Don't let the culture overlords tell you what is right and wrong. Use your common sense.

My common sense says that if a woman doesn’t want a photograph of herself used in a particular way, then continuing to use it is clearly wrong.

Nothing works that way. Any politician could dodge criticism by saying "I don't myself depicted in that particular way".

Ok, I think it’s fair to say it’s not an absolute rule. But there’s a big difference between publishing a picture of a politician against their wishes and a model’s glamour shot. There’s often a legitimate public interest in documenting the activities of politicians, sometimes even their private lives.

Don't contort this narrative into a "culture overlords" conspiracy. The original model, Lena Forsén, has asked that the image be retired.

And before that Forsén was a long time fine with it, but this didn’t stop the push to ban the image.

Exactly, and now she's saying that she's no longer fine with it.

She is still very proud about the photo. So if she changes her mind again, your principled opinion is to unban and use the image again?

Yes, I had no problem using the image until she said she didn't want it used.
