I will be pleasantly surprised if this is still a success and true to its stated mission a decade from now. Couchsurfing strayed away from the purpose its users believed in after becoming a profit machine.

FWIW, the code is open-source and the legal org behind it has clauses disallowing it from becoming for-profit.
