I guess I shouldn’t feel so bad then that I have a ticket open that I keep updating every few days with how long it’s been without a response. It’s only been a few weeks.

It does when you look at it with a few less zeros… it’s like a broke person floating checks for payday loans.

I am working on a project right now that I just had to scrap a few weeks of work because I realized the agent was agreeing with me when it should have been saying the testing was wrong. It found positive results in many failed tests. I have had to start over with rules in place and constantly reference them when getting results to ensure it is giving me the right overview. Then I still manually validate what it shows.

So far it has helped a bunch. Many ideas I have had, have been proven wrong and alternative ideas have come up in their place. It has resulted it much better progress and improvements over the original path I was going.

Like saying putting paint on a brush and wiping it on paper is the easy part of painting.

Even with coding agents, there is still a need to understand what it’s doing, how it will interact with other systems, where bugs or edge cases will show up and many other aspects that become security risks when ignored by someone that YOLO’s their vibe coded app into production

There’s a need for something to understand those things, but from a user perspective it doesn’t matter if that’s a human or an LLM.

Besides, loads of software that’s human written has people maintaining it that don’t understand what it’s doing or how it interacts with other systems or where bugs or edge cases will show up etc etc too. In fact I’d say most software is like this.

LLM’s probably make less security holes than humans at this point.

Isn’t this just a ‘rich’ person version of floating a bad check to cover last weeks payday loan?

I attempted something like this a year or two ago and wish I would have seen this blog then. I didn’t get as far and in the end I just spent the few extra $ and got a qmk compatible keyboard. So much easier to be able to remap and change things through a web browser.

Not a good month for me and entertainment. First I drop twitch turbo because they started showing ads and their support said, it happens nothing they can do about it. Now I need a new podcast app after using Pocketcasts since 2016.

Any Suggestions for iPhone that I can easily move to from pocketcast?

I gave up on Moto many years ago because of their mediocre hardware and slow updates on top of short update lifetime. It is the only phone manufacturer that I have ever seen release a new version of a product with significantly worse hardware.

Fabric vs metal/glass/plastic

It is also easy to make thousands of identical items when your build material is solid and can’t be stretched

That would be a good enough reason to drop Roku if they start doing this.

I know Roku doesn’t exactly have the greatest track record but I’ve owned them relatively trouble free since at least 2010, having refreshed them all once or twice since.

Way back when Apple and Amazon were fighting Roku was the only one that had both on it.

I prefer all my TVs stay dumb, so I just plug a Roku box or stick into them. No more having to get a new TV because the Netflix app stopped working or whatever.

I hate the Amazon Stick UI and don’t want to pay 3x the cost for an Apple box- but I absolutely will eject from Roku completely if they start doing this stuff.

The Roku of 2010 was not primarily deriving its earnings from ads and selling subscriptions to people, though. Apparently just selling devices / licensing an OS was not a growth industry.

If that's not enough, I'm sure there will be more desperate software updates...

Roku is pretty much the worst. They started out admirably, but completely sold out and turned into spyware a while ago now.
