Nor does the parent comment say that "Rust" hates GNU. A language can't hate anything for that matter.

> "The alternative languages" - in this case you're talking about C, 99% of the time.

And that's part of the problem. There's no excuse beyond maybe platform support for starting a brand new project in C, when C++ exists.

I don't think that is the case. I think the people that wrote this are simply bad programmers. Some of these issues are so obvious that if you've been doing any amount of programming, you should be able to anticipate them, whether you're writing C, Rust, or Java.

That's the same line of reasoning racists use to justify their hatred. I will not have a part in it.

This is almost random its such an odd response. Unconditionally granting good faith should be given to people because... racism.

Do you know the amount of times I've been lectured about "Holocaust Privilege" using the same line of logic? Because I don't, I have long lost count.

There's a depressingly common tactic of using the Holocaust to defend current genocide and atrocities, one that has been very effective until recently. It's exactly the kind of strategy that always assuming good faith allows for, and what I'm warning against. Unfortunately, the backlash against allowing bad actors to use victims as a shield is emboldening bigots. Another knock-on danger of the culture of unlimited civility is that it will eventually end and the overcorrection will see a lot undeserving people hurt.

Go fuck yourself you piece of shit.

To be honest, the skepticism around non-STEM fields is completely deserved. It's a complete shithole.

Let me guess, another "capitalism bad" tirade?

Apparently he already has according to a tweet.

There are a lot of comments on that issue demanding Anthropic give the guy the money back, I assume they saw the writing on the wall.

Probably. There are a lot of countries, especially third world ones, with very lax legal systems, not to mention the multitude of countries where law basically doesn't exist.

I think you mean their terms of service which are pretty restrictive and involve(d) a clause that lets them revoke your access to the editor at any time for any reason.
