You push the button and the band is released to slide out the side in either direction. Slide it in from the side and it locks automatically.

Springbars with quick release are far easier to use and more compatible.

I've always thought that the apple design adds a LOT of size to the watch head with the way they intrude inside the case. If they didn't do that and had the standard horns/lugs that every other watch has the watch head could be smaller. Also occurs to me that might be a desired result though so they can have a bigger display.

Springbars are manifestly not easier to use at all. They're more fragile and far more difficult to use.

Not really, plenty of people have "discovered" that proper food intake and exercise actually works. Very few follow through long term and they are looking for a pharma answer, which is profitable so sure they are willing to fill that want.

The term diet I'm avoiding here itself is viewed as a temporary change these days, but it must be a permanent change to actually work.

I guess I'm a freak, I dropped 30~40 lbs and all it took was a permanent overhaul of my diet (keto/paleo) and committing to some exercise (close rings on apple watch most days). You know, discipline. About 4 years now...

People hate when I tell them the secret is proper diet and exercise, they just don't have the discipline.

Kudos to you! Let that freak-flag fly!!

Keyword: permanent.

Most people go on a "diet" to make up for (bad) habits. They make some progress. But then return to those original (bad) habits in denial that those were the cause.

Ice cream (for example) was poison then. Diet or not, it's still poison. A small bowl now and then? Sure. But a nightly night-cap? Nah. Healthy doesn't work that way. No one want to hear that, let alone change habits that limit such exposure*.

* My rule for the supermarket...if I don't buy it, I can't eat it. I'm convinced you would guess people's weight - and general health - by looking at their shopping cart.

I work with building automation HVAC software and it's expected to last the lifetime of buildings so it's very common in my industry. Automated Logic WebCTRL in it's present web server form has crossed the 20 year mark and the controllers it is compatible with are in the 35+ year range.

Most humans create terrible passwords (myself included) and I really benefit from simply having a random word generator. I use generators like these to create a random word cloud to pick and chose from to create my actual password. I also might have to read particular passwords over the phone to someone in a rare emergency so real words help with that a lot. This particular one doesn't throw enough random symbols in between words IMO, I also like to throw in misspellings and random caps which none of them seem to do.

Yes, I use a random password generator for all of my passwords. But I don't use the XKCD method because I actually find that style of password more difficult to remember and more of a pain to type in.

I love my American Express but this is why small businesses do not; less than a million a year is 1.6~2.85% merchant fees.

The tyranny of the default is real. People on this site are perfectly aware it takes three seconds to change it but the great masses don't even think about it and they are worth the money spend to keep this default.

That doesn’t seem to be the case here.

“The South Korean tech giant initially deliberated a search-engine switch, thinking that it wouldn’t substantially change the status quo since the majority of Samsung smartphone users don’t use its in-house Internet app, according to people with knowledge of the discussions. Most users opt for other browsers including Google Chrome, which also comes preinstalled on Samsung phones, they said.”

I’m sure they have internal telemetry that lets them know for sure whose using what.

Or perhaps Google is just better than the competition.

Are they?

At normal search, yes miles ahead of bing. Tbh anything is better than bing, brave search with its own index and algorithm in my experience is much better.

For some, maybe, not for me. I switched from Google years back and haven’t noticed an appreciable difference in search quality.

Narrator; "they are not"

Yes

Very much so

Better at leveraging their dominant position. Not so much at search or several other services.

I think this is a matter of opinion. I disagree there

I can't help but think this is the excuse, anything for another foot in the door to further their adoption.
